SENIOR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND HYGIENE TRAINER
Position Overview:
As a Senior Occupational Health and Hygiene Trainer, you will play a critical role in designing, delivering, and evaluating occupational health and hygiene training programs. You will ensure that employees and stakeholders are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain safe, hygienic, and healthy work environments. This includes a focus on the control of hazards such as chemicals, noise, dust, fumes, radiation, and other environmental risks.
You will be responsible for reviewing, updating, and developing engaging and effective training modules, conducting training sessions, and monitoring the implementation of effective occupational health and hygiene practices within the organization. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with safety standards and contribute to maintaining a workplace that prioritizes employee health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop occupational health and hygiene training programs that meet the needs of the organization and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct on-site training sessions for employees, supervisors, contractors, and management teams on occupational health, hygiene, and safety protocols.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Keep up to date with local, national, and international regulations and best practices related to health and hygiene.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure occupational health and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to personnel on health and hygiene issues, ensuring that practices are followed consistently.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and progress.
- Act as a subject matter expert on health and hygiene for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Public Health, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an occupational health & hygiene role
- Minimum 5 years of experience in delivering occupational health, safety and hygiene training.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Hygiene or related certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, OSHA, First Aid, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of occupational health and hygiene standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs for diverse groups.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
